Case studies
Advitam has in-house civil engineers, system consultants and software developers with experience on a wide variety of projects and environments. Some relevant projects:
- Bridge Management System & Condition Assessment for Bulgarian Road Bridges (Bulgaria)
As part of a vast initiative to upgrade the condition of Bulgaria’s 19,000 km long road network, the Road Executive Agency decided to implement a state of the art bridge management system. The Advitam system supplied met the requirements of: A) handling large volumes of data corresponding to over 1,300 bridges, B) storing the inspection and rating data of each individual structure and, C) classifying the bridges based on inspection findings e.g. health condition, urgency of repair, importance of structure. Key portions of Advitam’s scope of work consisted of adapting and importing the Agency’s existing data, inventorying the nations network of bridges, supervision of field inspections, condition assessment and preparing detailed inspection report and recommendations.
- Bridge Data System (BDS) – New York City DOT(USA)
Advitam is currently working in conjunction with Earth Tech towards the development of a Bridge Data System (BDS) for the NYC Department of Transportation. BDS will expand the functionality of the Bridge Inspection System currently present within the NYC DOT thereby bringing it closer to the goal of a complete bridge management system. BDS will provide a complete control of the bridge inventory using a unique breakdown of the bridge structure. With this inventory, the DOT can prepare and schedule inspections, perform on-site inspection (With tablets and PDA) and perform post-inspection work including report generation, QA review and archiving. A requirement of the system is to incorporate existing data and format inspection results according to the State’s BIPPI system, and to serve as a data repository to various departments of the DOT. The system is being designed with future functionality in mind, such as a module for preventative maintenance management.
- Tagus Bridge (Portugal)
