About Tensiomag - Used Dynamag Technology

Maintenance of huge stock of infrastructure is one of the major concerns in the developed countries in this century. Structural Health Monitoring system development is the first step in resolving this problem. No accurate and simple method had been available for directly measuring the stresses in steel cable in stay cable bridge and suspension bridges.

Research work have led Advitam to develop Tensiomag®, a novel approach to monitor cable forces in prestressed structures and bridge cables. Advitam's WASHMS is provided now with this technology. It is a complete and simple nondestructive evaluation technique designed to overcome the problems related to some invasive methods such as strain gauges or load cells that are not stable over very long period.
After the initial calibration of the system on a steel sample of the lot to monitor, Tensiomag® allows very stable long term monitoring.

The Elastomagnetic method (EM) is up to now the only non-destructive method for noncontact measurement of stress in the steel cables, rods and wires.
